JEEP helps adults with disabilities and mental and physical illnesses access Jewish education and Jewish life in user-friendly ways. Every week, that means a Shabbos party at Halom House.
What we do
People with disabilities, especially people who live in a group home, can feel isolated. We bring them together to pray, to sing and to celebrate.

Shabbos at Halom House
Every Friday, JEEP brings a Shabbos party to the Jewish adults with developmental disabilities who live at Halom House. We pray, sing and celebrate together.
Every week
Drumming and art
The Halom House Drumming Circle meets every week. Painting sessions and projects, like the residents’ tzedakah boxes, fill out the year.
With the Federation
Enrichment
With a grant from the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, JEEP has run an enrichment program for adults with disabilities, at the JEEP center and at Halom House.
Weekly class
A class for everyone
Our weekly class, “Insights for Recovery from the Prayerbook and Weekly Torah Portion,” welcomes people with physical disabilities or mental illnesses.
“Every single person should have a chance to celebrate their spirituality and their Jewishness on whatever level works for them.”
